Many of the standard length shovels were modified or produced in a shorter length for Airborne troops (measures 18.5″/ 47cm as opposed to the standard’s 22″/ 56cm). These are a good quality, sturdy shovel that one can actually dig with- not simply a costume quality decoration.

Note: Not all paratroopers carried shortened T-handle. Many used the standard length which is easier to dig with..
