| Looks like a valve cover gasket…with no bolt holes. |
Fits Patronenkasten 41 Cans. The name is stamped on each end. |
M34 or M41? M41 have the latch on the end of the can while M34’s have it on top. |
New, die cut rubber gaskets for the Patronenkasten 41 ammunition cans. Although one can cut these by hand, it’s a major pain to do. Using an original, we had a cutting die made and punch these out of new 3mm rubber.
Installing: Just like valve cover gaskets, removing the old one ranges from fairly easy to a living hell, depending on whether the gasket is still soft or has fossilized. Pry the lips of the retaining bands back with a flat blade screw driver, then peel or chisel the old gasket out.
To install, I found it helpful to put a little black gasket sealer at each end, seat the new gasket, then push the sheet metal lip back into place with a piece of wood- such as a tool or paintbrush handle, tent peg or similar.
Cut in USA. (Not sure where the rubber comes from.)
